Posted in silk wall art on February 28, 2009 by silkswallowGreetings just added a new picture to my etsty shop a small stretched picture inspired by the old ruins of an Irish Castle. I particularly like working from images of ruins and almost feel like I am stepping in to the past I start to imagine what happened on this exact spot what battles were fought who lived and worked there what did they wear If only we had time travel

An original silk wall hanging created using a combination of batik and silk painting Inspired by the Celtic cross on the Bragan mountain in county Monaghan The cross is a penal cross situated on the very spot where a mass rock used to be It is believed a priest was killed there while saying mass. Today the Bragan is a rustic beauty spot relatively undiscovered.
